Multinational tech company Microsoft has taken the concept of “coffee at work” to a whole new level at its Swedish headquarters in central Stockholm. With its very own barista on site and high-class coffee machines from Convini, the company’s employees have access to really good coffee around the clock.
Right at the entrance to Microsoft – in what is aptly called the Welcome Hub – employees and visitors are greeted by the inviting barista bar, which is illuminated by stylish neon signs that effectively form the word “FIKA”.
Here, at the shiny manual espresso machine, we find probably the office’s most appreciated colleague, Boris Radmilovic. He is Microsoft’s very own barista who is on hand every day during office hours to offer coffee-hungry employees a fresh espresso or a delicious cappuccino. As an extra fun element, Boris can of course also fix the classic Microsoft logo or some other fun figure in latte art, something that is usually very appreciated and a snack – especially among external guests.
Coffee boosts the well-being factor
The barista bar has become a natural gathering place at the heart of Microsoft’s premises, with a cozy, stylish “home-away-from-home” feel and sustainable materials throughout. Employees should want to come here, to the office, for work, meetings and the important social interaction that occurs when colleagues meet. In all of this, coffee obviously plays an important role in well-being.
Long-standing cooperation based on good service

In addition to investing in the more advanced espresso machine that Boris manages, Microsoft has chosen to place several coffee machines at various gathering areas in the workplace.
